Do you have a conservatory that you are currently under-utilising? Stuck for inspiration on how best to furnish it? You’re not alone. So, we’ve put together some of the best ideas we have seen as installers of conservatories, windows and glass to help you turn your conservatory into an all year round, perfect living space. Here they are.

Choose a Style
There are many approaches to styling the colour of your conservatory that you can take. You could opt for an all encompassing colour, or match it with the palette of your living room if you’re stuck for inspiration. Opting for just one colour can help you feel cosier in the cooler months and a more joyful look in summer.
Have a Feature Wall
Vivid Magentas or Navy Blue can also be a great option if you want to create a ‘feature wall’. This is where you have one popping colour that contrasts with the rest of your colour scheme.
Go Natural
If matching the colour of your living room does not provide you with inspiration, why not choose a tone that blends your conservatory not just into your home but your garden too? Greens such as Bancha, Beverley, Dark Forest Green and Green Smoke are currently very popular. As are pastel like colours such as blues, yellows and sage greens.
Lift Up Your Flooring
Marble style flooring is currently all the rage, often helping to modernise and create a softer, more refined living space. You could also opt to take this in an industrial fashion, by opening up the style of your conservatory to purely a glass structure. You can read more about what types of flooring you could opt for here.
Pick One Large Piece of Furniture as a Focal Point
Your eye will always be drawn to the most prominent feature in the room so how about a large plush corner sofa, if the size of your conservatory will allow for it? You can snuggle up in the winter months and lounge out in summer. Alternatively, you could opt for a large table for entertaining, giving you more space to host the perfect garden party and carry on well into the evening.
Choose Multifunctional Furniture
If a large sofa or table isn’t your muse, how about window seats that can act as storage space? This would still give you an area you can enjoy the breeze or cosy up, with the added benefit of decluttering your home. Perhaps the perfect spot for art supplies in case inspiration strikes whilst sitting in your conservatory!
Use Reclaimed Furniture
Do your bit for the environment whilst simultaneously giving yourself a new crafting project. If you’re looking for that focal point item, scrap yards, charity shops and auction houses can be great places to search and get you out the house. Choose a popping retro colour, or perhaps a softer grey or cream to blend in and create a cooler effect.
Invest in New Blinds
No matter what the use of your conservatory, everyone needs space and privacy from prying eyes as well as controlling the temperature. You could opt for great drawback curtains, or perhaps you’d prefer sleek, modern light metallic blinds that will gently blow with a cool breeze.
Shrub It Up
Of course, no matter what the colour scheme, adding greenery and plants to your conservatory is an essential piece of making your conservatory the perfect living space. You are also not just confined to the furniture or floor either! Consider adding hanging plants in strategic places such as around your corner sofa. You could also choose more arid plants such as cacti if you are not the best at remembering to water them, whilst still benefiting from the tranquillity of the greenery. Investing in textured pots for ground level plants can be a great way of adding texture or a 3D effect too.
Go Big with Soft Furnishings
Tablecloths, cushions and curtains can all add colour. If you do make a change, soft furnishings can really draw the eyes attention whilst giving you an aesthetically pleasing and comforting colour scheme. For instance, if you had light green walls, slightly darker green cushions can create a forest-like effect.
Bring it to Light
Pun intended! With the Government’s new rules on energy rating appliances, now is the easiest time to find lighting that is both energy efficient and adds to the ambience of your conservatory. Why not opt for softer lights such as orange or yellow, or perhaps choose some soft light furnishings that create that effect? You could also opt for tealights in lanterns that flicker off the beige walls on a summer evening or create a magical cosy effect in winter. If you have a brick wall, you might also want to consider adding a mirror to reflect the light bouncing against your conservatory glass and truly make it shine.
Don’t Overcrowd Your Conservatory
We have provided a lot of advice on how to turn your conservatory into the perfect living space but be careful not to overcrowd it. Having one main focal point, with artistically placed items will create the spacious, harmonious living space you dreamed your conservatory to be.
