Home Design Trends Forecast For 2019

As you’ll all know by now, our focus here is very much on windows and doors. Both of these elements both come under the wider umbrella or home design.

With that in mind, we’ve compiled a shortlist of some predicted home design trends for the coming year. Forecasting what will or won’t be popular is always tough, but it is possible to make an informed estimate based on previous years and early signs.

Minimalism

Minimalism, or simply a lack of clutter, has been a growing trend for a number of years now. So much so, in fact, that it’s become one of the hallmarks of modern style and decor. Expect this trend to continue over the next 12 months, with a selective approach to both purchasing and decorating still remaining popular.

Rustic elements

With so much technology a staple part of most people’s lives these days, many are yearning for a dose of nature. Wooden features, such as doors and window frames, provide an easy way of bringing some more natural features into a home.

Wooden floors

This one depends largely on personal preference, but there is a growing tendency for people to favour lighter, wooden floors over heavily-carpeted or dark ones.

More colour

Plenty are predicted an influx of colour this year, following a number of years of light, reserved pastel shades. Not only is more colour likely to start appearing in homes up and down the country, but that colour also looks set to become bolder.
